"Jamestown, Quebec, Santa Fe: Three North American Beginnings" (closes Nov. 1). Learn about the first permanent English, French and Spanish settlements in the New World.

"Panamanian Passages" (opens Oct. 5) highlights the construction of the Panama Canal.

"Accelerate: A National Juried Exhibition for Emerging Artists with Disabilities, Ages 16-25" (Sept. 10, 2009 through Jan. 6, 2010). The works of 15 award-winning artists are reflections on how personal disabilities have motivated, shaped and transformed their lives.

"Women and Spirit: Catholic Sisters in America" (opens Jan. 15). Rare artifacts and photographs explore the role of Catholic sisters in American life.
