Avoid lines at the IMAX theater and Einstein Planetarium. Purchase tickets at www.si.edu/imax or call toll-free 866-868-7774 or 202-633-8850 (TTY).
Take a tour. Meet at the welcome center at 10:30 or 1:00 for a 90-minute highlights tour with a knowledgeable guide.
Let's Eat!
The museum offers a food court (first floor, east wing) with fare from McDonald’s, Donato’s Pizza and Boston Market. For lighter appetites, visit the McCafé upstairs or enjoy a cool dessert from the McTreat Spot in the rear of the food court.
Getting Around
Escalators are located on both sides of “Milestones of Flight.” Four elevators, in the store and in Galleries 105, 109 and 107, are also available.
East or West? Which is Best?
To see rockets and space flight exhibits, visit the galleries in the east side of the building. Airplanes and aviation are on the west side.
Albert Einstein Planetarium
Witness the phenomenon of "Black Holes" or take a "Journey to the Stars." Films start every half-hour.
