    Tips

    Take a Tour
    Free walk-in tours are offered daily at 10:30 and 1:00. Meet at the information desk near the tail of the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird. To schedule a group tour, call 202-633-2563 at least two weeks in advance.

    Get a Bird's Eye View
    Take the elevator on the lower level near the theater entrance to the Engen Observation Tower and see for yourself how the U.S. air traffic control system works. Remember, the elevator closes at 4:30, so get in line early to optimize your visit.

    Grab a Bite
    The restaurants, open daily 10 to 5, are just inside the main entrance. McDonald's offers burgers and salads. The McCafé features specialty coffees.

    South of Washington, D.C.
    Take I-66W to Route 28N (Exit 53B), travel 5.3 miles, exit at Air and Space Museum Parkway.

    North of Washington, D.C.
    Take the Capital Beltway to the Dulles Toll Road West, exit at Route 28S (Exit 9A), travel 3.5 miles, exit at Air and Space Museum Parkway.
