Free tours begin at the information desk at 12:15 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and at 1:15 Saturday and Sunday, except holidays. Tours are subject to docent availability.

The Freer offers a rich program of Asia-related films, concerts, dance performances and lectures in the Meyer Auditorium. Pick up a calendar of these free events at the information desk, or call 202-633-1000 or visit asia.si.edu.
Activity guides are at the information desk. Children's programs and activities, listed in the calendar of events, are offered on weekends during the school year and weekday afternoons.
Children especially find entertaining the two expressive Kongorikishi warriors at both ends of the corridor on the Mall side of the museum. The big wooden sculptures date to 14th-century Japan.
In the "Peacock Room," children love to search for the colored stones in the two large peacocks' eyes on the south wall.

Although the Freer and Sackler galleries do not have on-site cafés, many Smithsonian museums do.
