Housed in a unique underground building, the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery maintains a collection of Asian art from the ancient to the contemporary. The gallery opened in 1987 with a gift of nearly 1,000 artworks from collector Arthur M. Sackler (1913-1987).

“Perspectives: Hai Bo” (March 27-Feb. 27, 2011). View Chinese photographer and painter Hai Bo’s five stunning, large-scale images.
“Gods of Angkor: Bronzes from the National Museum of Cambodia” (May 15-Jan. 23, 2011). The origins, uses and techniques of bronze casting in Cambodia are revealed in 36 magnificent examples dating from the 3rd century B.C. to the 16th century.
“Fiona Tan: Rise and Fall” (Sept. 25-Jan. 16, 2011). Indonesian-born film and video artist Fiona Tan crafts video installations drawing on old photographs, 17th-century Dutch paintings and 19th-century Orientalist architecture.
